Brewers beat Cardinals, 6-1, regain top spot

The Brewers regained sole possession of first place in the Majors
Division standings last weekend by beating the Cardinals, 6-1, in
Robinwood Little League action.
Winning pitcher Casey Becker threw five solid, shutout innings and also
was one of the Brewers’ top hitters with two singles.
Scott Schauer led the Brewers offense with a pair of doubles, a single,
and two runs scored.
Erik Koon collected two hits and scored the lone run for the Cardinals.
In other games:
Mets 10, Braves 6
Starting pitching Jason Gettler struck out nine in five innings and
closer Nolan Perine struck out two more batters in the final inning to
cement the Mets victory. Offensively for the Mets, 10-year-old Austen
Dailey and Eddie Ramirez each went 3 for 3 and Gian Bruno singled twice.
For the Braves, Scott Locken doubled twice and singled and also pitched 4
1/2 innings, striking out seven.
