College softball: OCC errors costly

MISSION VIEJO - The Orange Coast College softball team commited

four of its six errors in the fifth to help host Saddleback post six

unearned runs and close out an 11-3 Orange Empire Conference win Monday

in a game which ended in the fifth inning via the mercy rule.

Angel Valdez had a two-run single to help the Pirates (14-18, 3-9 in

conference) take a 3-0 first-inning lead.

Saddleback improved to 14-10-1, 7-5).
