AYSO Region 97: Newport Silver All-Stars tie, win

NEWPORT BEACH - The Newport Silver All-Stars from AYSO Region 97,

Division 5, tied North Irvine, 1-1, before defeating South Irvine, 2-1,

last weekend.

In the tie with North Irvine, Lauren DeVoy accounted for Newport’s lone

goal, while Amy Snyder and Katie Puccio shared duty as goalkeepers.

In game two, DeVoy and Sara Gomez each scored for Newport.

Leading the defense for Newport was Katy Storch, Clea O’Kieffe, Alex

Barton and Maggie Bernay.

Adding to Newport’s offensive punch was Amy Layton, Brianna Uston,

Cassidy Gaynor, Courtney Taylor, Kristina Heimstaedt, Shannon Rohan, Ally

Schatzlein and Sara Gomez.
