invites the community to lunch with the master of the interview.

The Irvine Marriott is the site for the program, which begins with a

silent auction at 10:30 a.m. followed by a champagne reception and

luncheon chaired by Kim Grubman.

The benefit co-chair is Carol Julien, and the president of the committee

is Sharon Moore. Locals involved include the lovely Lana Chandler, Martha

Green, Ollie Hill, Eve Kornyei, Jo Anne Mix, Harriet Sandhu, Ann Stern,

A 10th anniversary celebration for the John Henry Foundation was staged

recently at the Village Crean in Newport Beach.

An estimated $50,000 was raised at the Monte Carlo-style party chaired by

Linda Palitz and Rick Massimino, president and founder of the foundation.

Devoted to improving the quality of life for people suffering with mental

illness, the John Henry Foundation provides affordable housing, social

services and recreational opportunities for adults living with serious

and chronic mental illness, said Susan Smallwood, a mental health

activist supporting the foundation and other work to increase mental

health awareness in society and care for those afflicted.

Some 250 guests enjoyed dinner at the Crean estate on the Back Bay while

bidding on a massive silent auction effort that raised $20,000 for the

foundation.

Major underwriting for the evening came from Art and Carol Montsinger and

Donald and Susan Smallwood. In the crowd were Rebecca Wacker of

Pacificare Foundation, Tania Carrell of Pfizer Inc., and Isa Hanna of Eli

Lilly and Co.
