Kobe Bryant’s Newport Coast home now listed under $7 million

Kobe Bryant’s longevity isn’t the only thing taking a hit these days.

The Los Angeles Lakers star, who is expected to miss an extended amount of time after suffering a torn rotator cuff this week, has adjusted the asking price on his home in Newport Coast to $6.995 million, down from $7.599 million.

Recently renovated and expanded, the Mediterranean-style home sits behind a gated entry on about half an acre with unobstructed city and ocean views. Clad in walnut hardwoods, limestone and ornate finishes, the two-story floor plan has a chef’s kitchen, large formal areas, four bedrooms and 5.5 bathrooms in 8,741 square feet.

Among highlights is an 850-square-foot gym, a hair salon and a movie theater complete with a lobby, tiered seating and a wet bar. A wood-paneled office/library features a custom shark tank.

Outdoors, landscaped grounds center on a pool and spa with waterfall features. A fire pit and an outdoor kitchen complete the resort-like setting.

Bryant originally put the home on the market in 2013 with an asking price of $8.599 million. The property last sold in October 1997 for $1.7 million, records show.

Jordan Cohen, estate director for Re/Max Olson & Associates, and Jeff Ewing of Coldwell Banker Newport Beach are the co-listing agents, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Bryant, who was limited to just six games last season due to injury, suffered a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder during Wednesday’s loss to the New Orleans Pelicans. The 36-year-old holds averages of 22.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 5.6 apg in 35 games this year.
