Skyloft restaurant opens at former Rock ‘N Fish location

The second floor space in the Heisler building is open for business again as its newest tenant, Skyloft restaurant, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Sunday.
Officials from the city and the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce welcomed Mozambique steakhouse owner Ivan Spiers’ newest venture, a restaurant serving American fare with an emphasis on barbecue.
Guests on Sunday dined on a complimentary brunch at the site of the former Rock ‘N Fish, which closed a year ago.
Skyloft opened to the public Oct. 26 and its hours are 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. daily, with live music and happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Its menu includes smokehouse wings, shrimp ceviche, tri-tip salad with a gazpacho-bloody mary vinaigrette, slow-smoked brisket, baby back ribs with choice of three types of sauces, along with sandwiches and soups.
“This project has been really exciting to see come together,” Spiers said in a statement. “I’m really proud of how the renovation came out and I’m excited to share this new concept with our guests. I’ve always wanted to have a concept where you could enjoy Americana food with a cold beer and listen to live music.”
The restaurant is at 422 S. Coast Hwy., and will use the third-floor rooftop deck.
