3 suspects sought after $850 in Yu-Gi-Oh cards stolen in armed robbery

Anaheim police searched Monday for three suspects who stole nearly 1,000 Yu-Gi-Oh cards valued at $850 at knife-point.

Two men were sitting in their car at Clara Barton Park in the 800 block of South Agate Street about 11:45 p.m. Jan. 25 when a car pulled up behind them, blocking them in, according to the Anaheim Police Department.

Two male suspects exited that car while a female driver stayed in it with the engine running.

The men brandished a 6-inch knife and searched the two victims after ordering them out of their car, the department said.

They then searched the car, where they discovered a school backpack. They took the bag, which contained the Yu-Gi-Oh cards, back to their car and drove away.

On Jan. 27 the three suspects entered a card shop in Anaheim, where they sold the cards, which have since been recovered. Yu-Gi-Oh is a Japanese trading card game.

The department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects, described as two Latinos between 20 and 25 years old. One is 6 feet to 6-feet-2 and 220 to 250 pounds, with black prescription glasses. The other was described as 5-feet-10 and 150 to 165 pounds; he was wearing a shirt that reads “UEI” in a surveillance video from the shop.

The third suspect is a Latina, 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-7 and 120 to 140 pounds, with bright red hair at the time of the robbery. The suspects were driving a green Honda from the early ‘90s.
