A girl whose body was found lying on a sidewalk in an upscale Yorba Linda neighborhood Tuesday with multiple stab wounds has been identified as a 17-year-old runaway, authorities said Thursday.
Aubreyanna Sade Parks, of Gardena, was listed as a runaway, but the Orange County Sheriff’s Department did not say when she had been first reported missing.
Larry Soo Shin, 35, of Yorba Linda, was arrested on suspicion of murder and is expected to be formally charged Thursday, authorities said.
He is being held in lieu of $1-million bail.
Parks’ body was discovered Tuesday by a group of bicyclists at about 5:40 a.m. near Deodar Drive and Live Oak Lane.
Based on preliminary information and evidence from the scene, it appears the slaying occurred at or near where the body was found.
An autopsy determined that Parks died as a result of multiple stab wounds to her upper body.
Investigators said they are still trying to determine the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said Parks had previously been arrested on suspicion of prostitution.
