The sole winner of the multi-state $425-million Powerball jackpot in Wednesday’s drawing bought the lucky ticket at a Milpitas gas station, lottery officials said.
The winning ticket with all six numbers was purchased at Dixon Landing Chevron gas station, which will receive $1 million for selling it, said California Lottery spokesman Alex Traverso.
No details about the winner were available.
By the time the winning numbers were drawn Wednesday night, the jackpot had skyrocketed to $425 million, Traverso said.
The jackpot was the sixth-largest in U.S. lottery history, and the odds of winning it were about 1 in 175 million, officials said.
