Parrots were blamed for power outages Sunday that left thousands of Southern California Edison customers in the South Bay area without service.
Edison spokesman Paul Netter said the outages were reported before 4 p.m. and affected 6,109 customers in Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach and a small portion of Manhattan Beach. Parrots that damaged a power line were blamed for the outages.
The outages were bordered from Longfellow Avenue to the north, the Strand to the west, Blossom Lane to the east and as far south as Ripley Avenue and Beryl Street.
Power was restored to all customers about 7:15 p.m., Netter said.
