A 44-year-old man was charged Thursday with killing a retired Hollywood High School teacher, authorities said.
Scott Kratlian, also known as Scott Porter, was charged with one count of murder, said Greg Risling, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.
Kratlian was arrested Tuesday by the FBI and the LAPD Fugitive Task Force.

Harry Major, 82, was found dead Feb. 12 at his home in the 1400 block of North Vista Street, police said. Detectives said the retired teacher died under suspicious circumstances because there was evidence of blunt-force trauma, and his credit cards were missing.
Coroner officials classified Major’s death as a homicide a few days later. They said Major had been strangled.
Former students recalled Major as a nice man who was well-liked by students and staff.
Kratlian was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon, the district attorney’s office said.
