A Los Angeles police officer was wounded Monday morning in a shooting in Reseda, officials said.
The officer was transported to a hospital with what was initially believed to be an arm injury, LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith said. The officer’s condition was not immediately known, but Smith said he was described as “conscious and breathing.”
The officer responded to the 7100 block of Yolanda Avenue shortly after 9:30 a.m. on a report of a suspect with a weapon and “attack dog,” Smith said. It was not immediately clear what led to the shooting or whether the suspect was in custody.
An investigation into the incident was underway. Television footage showed multiple police cars and officers at the scene.
