L.A. Now Live: Discuss Calderon indictments, political futures

Join Times staff writers Patrick McGreevy and Hector Becerra for a discussion Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. about the indictments against state Sen. Ronald S. Calderon and his brother, former Assemblyman Thomas Calderon, and their political futures.
Sen. Calderon was charged Friday with accepting $100,000 in bribes in addition to other perks such as plane trips and excursions to golf resorts in exchange for action on certain pieces of legislation.
Meanwhile, his brother Thomas Calderon was charged with being part of a money-laundering conspiracy.
After the indictments were issued, colleagues in the Legislature were quiet at first and huddled behind closed doors. On Monday, Senate leaders said they would give Ronald Calderon one week, until March 3, to either take a leave of absence or resign, or face a possible Senate vote to suspend him from office.
Some analysts say the indictments could be disastrous for other Calderon family members with political aspirations.
