Human remains found near nature center in Burbank

Authorities on Wednesday continued to investigate human bones that were found a day earlier near a nature center in Burbank.
The road to the Stough Canyon Nature Center was blocked off for the investigation after the human remains were discovered past the main gate by a city worker shortly before 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Burbank Leader reported.
“It’s considered a crime scene,” said Burbank police Sgt. Darin Ryburn.
It was not yet known whether the remains are of a male or female or how long the bones had been there, he added.
Burbank police officials, as well as the Los Angeles County coroner’s anthropology unit, continued to search the area with cadaver dogs Wednesday morning.
The Stough Canyon Nature Center is at 2300 E. Walnut Ave.
