Homicide detectives investigate death of 5-month-old boy in Carson

Homicide detectives Monday night were investigating the death of a 5-month-old boy in Carson.
The incident was reported about 5:45 p.m. in the 19000 block of Cliveden Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The child was pronounced dead at the scene. Homicide investigators were gathering evidence, and no additional details were immediately available.
Since January 2007, at least 48 homicides have been reported in Carson, according to The Times Homicide Report database.
For the record, 8:38 p.m. Sept. 9: A previous version of this post incorrectly reported that the boy was 5 years old.
