Pine fire near Gorman is 65% contained

A brush fire near Gorman that has burned more than 150 acres was 65% contained Saturday morning, Los Angeles County firefighters said.
The Pine fire was reported at 1:20 p.m. Friday just south of California 138 near Quail Lake. It threatened two homes and the Old Ridge Route south of the highway was shut down “due to heavy fire,” according to the California Highway Patrol.
Two CL-415 Super Scoopers from Quebec, which can each carry 1,620 gallons of water and fly three hours before refueling, are being used in the firefight, authorities said. Two Los Angeles Fire Department helicopters also are assisting.
About 190 firefighters are battling the blaze, authorities said.
Weather officials had warned of fire dangers amid higher-than-normal temperatures that were expected to climb into the 90s this weekend in some areas.
