Authorities have arrested a man suspected of stabbing his roommate to death at their West Hollywood apartment complex, officials said.
Deputies went to the suspect’s apartment in the 900 block of Palm Avenue about 5 p.m. Saturday to conduct a welfare check, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
When they arrived at the scene, the deputies were told that the individual who lived in the unit may have killed his roommate and may be trying to kill himself, authorities said.
The deputies forced their way into the apartment and discovered a male victim on the kitchen floor, with stab wounds, according to the Sheriff’s Department. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Deputies found the suspect hiding in a bathroom, authorities said. He appeared to have taken a large amount of pills and was taken to a hospital for treatment and evaluation.
The investigation is continuing and no further information was immediately available.
Authorities asked that anyone with information about the incident contact the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.
