Crime alerts for Arleta and 12 other L.A. neighborhoods

Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 13 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of LAPD data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.
Eight neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Arleta (A) was the most unusual, recording five reports compared with a weekly average of 1.4 over the last three months.
Elysian Valley (I) topped the list of five neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded three property crimes compared with its weekly average of 1.2 over the last three months.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for March 23–March 29, the most recent seven days for which data are available.
