A city employee was struck by a car Monday morning as he crossed the street toward the Silver Lake Dog Park, police said.
The man, whose name has not been released, was crossing Silver Lake Boulevard near Fanning St. about 8:10 a.m. when he was struck by a vehicle traveling north, said LAPD Central Traffic Det. Michael Kaden.
The man, employed by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, was walking to the Silver Lake Dog Park to repair lights, he said. The driver was extremely distraught and stayed on the scene, Kaden said, adding that he did not know the victim’s condition.
