A 2-year-old boy was killed after he was mauled by as many as five pit-bull-type mix dogs in Colton, police said Monday night.
The attack took place about 5 p.m. at a home in the 700 block of Citrus Street, where officers responded to a 911 call, the Colton Police Department said.
The child was “suffering from extensive wounds to the upper body,” police officials said in a statement.

Five pit bull mix dogs were taken into custody by animal control officers, police said.
Investigators were at the scene late Monday, and it was not immediately clear what led to the child being attacked.
Anyone with information about the dogs or the attack is asked to call Det. S. McFarland at (909) 370-5000.
