About 1,300 people were still without power late Tuesday in Santa Monica, utility officials said.
Power had been restored to about 4,500 people after three lines were downed, Southern California Edison said.
The downed lines were near 7th and Marine streets, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.
Edison said crews were at the scene and were working to restore full power as quickly as possible.
People along Marine near 4th, 5th and 6th streets said on Twitter Tuesday night that power had been restored in their area.
The blackout affected an area bounded roughly by Pico Boulevard on the north, Marine Street on the south, Ocean Avenue on the west and 17th Street on the east, according to utility officials.
