Earthquake: 3.3 quake strikes near Indio

A shallow magnitude 3.3 earthquake was reported Tuesday morning 6 miles from Indio, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:08 a.m. PDT at a depth of 4.3 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 7 miles from Coachella, 13 miles from La Quinta and 14 miles from Palm Desert.
In the past 10 days, there has been one earthquake magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
