Crime reports are up significantly for the latest week in 11 L.A. neighborhoods, according to an analysis of Los Angeles Police Department data by the Los Angeles Times’ Crime L.A. database.
Two neighborhoods reported a significant increase in violent crime. Vermont Vista (A) was the most unusual, recording 12 reports compared with a weekly average of 7.2 over the last three months.
Porter Ranch (C) topped the list of 10 neighborhoods with property crime alerts. It recorded 20 property crimes compared with its weekly average of 6.8 over the last three months.
One neighborhood triggered alerts for both violent and property crime.
Alerts are based on an analysis of crime reports for Sept. 17–23, the most recent seven days for which data are available. This post was automatically created by an algorithm written by the authors.
