Panorama: Funeral for firefighter Glenn Allen

Firefighters and other emergency and rescue personnel pay their respects as the casket of firefighter Glenn Allen is carried from the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels after his memorial service on Friday in Los Angeles. Allen, 61, was gravely injured when a ceiling collapsed on him and five colleagues as they battled a blaze that broke out Feb. 16 in the 1500 block of North Viewsite Drive. The 36-year firefighter died last Friday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He was a year from retirement. Allen's daughter gave birth to his first grandchild the day after he died. The 6-pound, 7-ounce boy was said to be healthy.
