SOCHI, Russia — Anton Kushnir won the gold medal in Olympic men’s aerials Monday night, giving Belarus its second gold medal of the games in the freestyle skiing event.
Alla Tsuper of Belarus took the women’s gold Friday.
Kushnir scored a 134.5 on his final, five-twisting jump to beat Australia’s David Morris by more than 24 points.
Two Chinese skiers, Qi Guangpu and Jia Zongyang, had a chance to better those scores but both of them fell on their landings.
Jia took the bronze.
Belarus has now won back-to-back Olympic gold in the men’s contest. In 2010, Alexei Grishin won the title. On Monday, he didn’t make it through qualifying.
