The Nutella truck (yes it’s real), with free samples, in L.A. this weekend

Nutella is celebrating 50 years of its smooth chocolate-hazelnut spread with a Nutella truck tour around the U.S. And this weekend, the Nutella “Spread the Happy” truck will be in Los Angeles -- with free samples.
From Saturday to Tuesday, the truck will be making stops around the city, handing out free samples of Nutella with a variety of unspecified foods, according to a release. We’re officially making a request for crepes, strawberries, bananas, waffles and pound cake, to name a few.
The truck will also travel with interactive games. A little pin the Nutella on the donkey or a Nutella selfie contest, anyone?
The tour schedule calls for the truck to be at the Fiestas Patrias California in the Olvera Street Plaza on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Monday it will be at the Student Union Building at Los Angeles City College from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The truck finishes its L.A. visit Tuesday with a stop in Westwood from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
You can’t miss the truck. It’s marked with the brand’s signature red, white and black and flanked by two giant inflatable Nutella jars. There’s also an irresistible picture of Nutella-smothered toast and bananas across one of the sides.
We understand the sight of a vehicle full of Nutella may cause extreme happiness, but try not to rush it when you see it. That might ruin the free Nutella for the rest of us.
And if you somehow miss the truck, check out the L.A. Times Test Kitchen’s recipe for homemade Nutella.
