No really, this Japanese beer is actually blue
- Share via
Blue beer is no longer just a Smurf fantasy. A Japanese company is making a beer that’s actually blue.
Abashiri Brewery in Hokkaido has a blue brew the company claims is naturally blue. That means no artificial dyes and no Walter White-made meth mixed in either.
The blue color comes from blue seaweed, flowers, water from melted icebergs and Chinese yam.
The beer is only available in Japan and in the U.K., through Firebox.com. According to the website, it does not taste like a blue raspberry Slushee. Good to know.
The beer is sold in individual cans for $7.95 or in packs of four or eight.
