Coffee shop has food drive for thief who stole from tip jar

When a thief was caught on camera stealing money from a tip jar at a coffee shop in Stow, Ohio, the shop decided to respond with an unexpected act of kindness instead of a call to the police.
Nervous Dog Coffee Bar has started a food drive to help the thief, who stuck his hand into the tip jar and took out as much money as he could grab before leaving.
“We assume that if he was desperate enough to steal tips, he’s probably in desperate times,” Nervous Dog Coffee Bar manager Scott Moses told USA Today.
The store posted a status on its Facebook page announcing the food drive, which is taking place at both of the Nervous Dog Coffee Bar locations. The shop has collected three boxes full of food since the drive started.
They are hoping the thief in the video will hear about the drive and come back to collect the food. If he’s a no-show before Christmas, the shop will donate the food to a local charity instead.
The baristas are also throwing in free cups of coffee for the man for the remainder of the year.
