Hollywood Headlines: A crazy week in review

Fanboys got an early look this week at what’s in store for two of the most anticipated films of 2012: “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Hobbit.” While Batman will have his hands full with Bane, his new nemesis, Bilbo Baggins will be setting off on a great adventure, with a little help from Gandalf.  (From left: Christian Bale. It was Piers Morgan’s turn in the hot seat on Tuesday when the CNN talk show host and former “America’s Got Talent” judge was called for questioning before the British government. During the inquiry into journalism ethics, the former Daily Mirror editor denied engaging in any phone hacking during his stint with the paper, while still acknowledging the practice as a widespread problem in the U.K. However, Morgan’s former Daily Mirror colleague James Hipwell had a very different recollection of hacking at the paper, telling the ethics panel it was happening almost daily.  (Jae C. One of Hollywood’s longest marriages is over. After more than three decades together Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard are dunzo. While the breakup is news to us, the couple actually went their separate ways two years ago. Lange and Shepard met while filming “Frances” in 1982. If Jessica Lange and Sam Shepard can’t make it last, who can? Debra Messing and husband Daniel Zelman also called it quits this week after more than a decade together. Apparently the split is mutual and the couple, who separated earlier this year (but didn’t tell anyone) have continued living together in New York. Also having relationship trouble? Chaz Bono and Jennifer Elia. The couple, who both starred in OWN’s reality show “Being Chaz,” called off their engagement. Bono, the transgender child of Sonny and Cher who shot to fame on “Dancing With the Stars,” tweeted about the breakup news on Monday. “Thanks for your concern about our separation. “Dancing With the Stars” winner J.R. Martinez is expecting a very special delivery, but it won’t be here until long after Christmas. The “All My Children” alum and Iraq war veteran announced that his girlfriend Diana Gonzalez-Jones is pregnant with a baby girl. “Not everything in life unfolds #traditionally just count your #blessings along the way and keep your #integrity,” he tweeted Monday.
