David Letterman was furious when Sen. John McCain bailed on his scheduled "Late Show" appearance, allegedly to help with the financial bailout plan, only to be caught on tape prepping instead for an interview with Katie Couric. Letterman ranted the next day: "I was thinking about this -- John, John, here's how it works: You don't come to see me ... you don’t come to see me? Well, we might not see you on Inauguration Day. That's how it works. You see?"
