America’s most popular reality show on cable has been treading water since the “Duck Dynasty” family’s patriarch, Phil Robertson, sounded off on gay and black people in an unabashed GQ interview. An “extremely disappointed” A&E pulled poppa Robertson off the show indefinitely. His family says they’re not sure about filming without him. (Zach Dilgard / Associated Press)

Add “Cupid” to his resume. Timberlake’s love arrows shot true when he called a couple onstage during a Kentucky performance, handed his microphone to “Mr. Right” and let the groom-to-be steal the show. And steal the show he did — we’re not sure we’ve ever heard fan screams so loud. (John Shearer / Invision / Associated Press)
The 19-year-old pop star continues to wield his fame without regard to consequences (e.g., defiling a custodial bucket with his urine), with his latest stunt possibly causing Bieber fan emotional haywire worldwide: “After the new album, I’m actually, I’m retiring man, I’m retiring,” he told L.A.’s Power 106 radio station. According to his crew, the announcement was just a joke. (Powers Imagery / Invision / Associated Press)
Unlike Bieber, Gomez is taking a real hiatus from music. The singer canceled her Australia tour dates, and reports say her Asia stop may also be nixed. “It has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be,” Gomez said in a statement. Sources say she’s fine, just a tad homesick. (Taylor Hill / Getty Images for Clear Channel)

Singer Demi Lovato seems to be missing the stage. Retiring from “The X Factor” after two seasons as judge on the music competition show, Lovato says she’s ready to focus on touring and recording a new album. (Richard Shotwell / Invision / Associated Press)
Is that the glow of a healthy mom-to-be, or the media spotlight? It might be both.
