Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters buys Los Feliz home

Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters and his partner, filmmaker Chris Moukarbel, have bought the Ulm House in Los Feliz for $1.92 million. The seller was painter Beatrice Findlay.
The Streamline Moderne-style home, attributed to architect William Kesling and built in 1937, features a rounded glass-block illuminated stairwell, walls of windows, three bedrooms, three bathrooms and 2,309 square feet of living space.
Shears, who turns 35 on Oct. 3, is the lead male singer of the pop band.

The property came on the market in July at $1.9 million. Findlay purchased it in 1977 for $138,000.
Brad Lawrence of Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agent. Shelley Aaronson of Sotheby’s International Realty represented the buyers.
