Former professional baseball slugger Carlos Lee has put his mansion-estate in Sugar Land, Texas, on the market at $1.9 million.
The two-story Traditional, built in 1991, features a vaulted entry, a grand double staircase, elaborate wall molding and hardwood flooring. The 9,117 square feet of living space includes a formal living room with a marble fireplace, a media room, a game room, five bedrooms and five full bathrooms.
Among features is a catering kitchen to complement a chef’s kitchen and a generous master retreat with a bonus room. Outdoors, landscaped grounds of more than an acre contain a pool and spa, expansive lawns and a basketball half-court.
Lee, 38, played 14 Major League seasons with the White Sox, Brewers, Rangers, Astros and Marlins, making three All-Star teams and earning a pair of Silver Slugger Awards. He retired in 2013 with a .285 batting average and 358 home runs.
Public records show that the property last sold in March 2007 -- roughly three months after Lee agreed to a six-year, $100-million free agent contract with the Astros. Cindy Burns of Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty is the listing agent.
