Oprah Winfrey Network to move to West Hollywood studio lot

The headquarters for Oprah Winfrey’s television network will join comedy website Funny or Die in a new office building in West Hollywood called Formosa South.
The Oprah Winfrey Network, now based in Los Angeles, plans to move into its new headquarters at the end of the year, the network said in a statement.
The move will give OWN access to studios, a perk it doesn’t have in its current digs at Wilshire Courtyard, an office complex at 5700 Wilshire Boulevard.
Formosa South is a new office building at the Lot, the current name for the former Warner Hollywood Studios on Santa Monica Boulevard between Formosa Avenue and Poinsettia Place.
Formosa South is next to the remodeled studio arrival gate. The Lot is an 11-acre studio campus with seven soundstages, a commissary, office buildings and postproduction facilities.
OWN is “an ideal fit” for the office building that is intended to be the first in a series of offices to be added to the Lot, said Shaul Kuba, founding principal of CIM Group, which owns the Lot.
Terms of OWN’s deal with CIM Group were not disclosed, but the network rents nearly 52,000 square feet at Wilshire Courtyard, according to real estate data provider CoStar Group.
Funny or Die, created by comedian Will Ferrell and his longtime writing partner, Adam McKay, announced last summer that it would move to the Lot.
