Rx Boiler Room

Lest you be confused, Rx is pronounced “Rick’s,” as in super-chef Rick Moonen, whose newest endeavor is a steampunk-inspired lounge restaurant that replaces the upstairs fine dining room of his RM Seafood. Gone are the anchors and yacht-like feel; the vibe now reads Victorian speakeasy, punctuated by chalkboard paint walls, ornate chandeliers and gearboxes arranged willy-nilly. The decidedly non-seafood-based menu takes off with a chef’s twist on old favorites: inside-out French onion soup, chicken potpie nuggets and mac & cheese x five (as in, five types of cheese). Sip a provocative cocktail served by bubbly ladies in corsets who seem to enjoy their job as much as you enjoy being there.
