Michael Mina Pub 1842

Sometimes, if you’re Michael Mina — he of the Michelin stars and über-fine dining venues — you just want to have fun. Mina’s new burger joint (or, shall we say, gastropub) is nothing if not fun, taking American backyard fare and raising it a few hundred notches. Named for the year modern Pilsner beer was invented, the menu boasts creative dishes that, from anyone else, would cause serious eye-rolling: peanut butter crunch burger with bacon jam; two-pound lobster roll topped with popcorn; and frickles—crunchy fried pickles topped with a secret sauce. Wash your meal down with a Willy Wonka-esque “fizzy lifting drink” or a grown-up version of Jungle Juice.
