Bruins bring it

Reading the remarks of USC basketball players claiming over and over again that “we just beat ourselves” in USC’s loss to UCLA last Sunday, it sounds as if the Bruins wasted their time in even showing up for the game.

Before his middle-of-the-pack Trojans lost to the conference-leading UCLA Bruins, USC freshman forward Davon Jefferson proclaimed that the Bruins needed to “bring it.” Having contributed one point and one rebound for every 10 minutes he played in Sunday’s game, Mr. Jefferson needs to “bring it” himself with something other than his mouth. Otherwise, his only involvement in March Madness will be watching UCLA play on the television in his dorm room.

Did I miss an announcement, are the Raiders back in town? Mike Garrett, our colors are cardinal and gold, always have been, always should be. What’s next, names on the backs of our jerseys?

An injured great player is just an injured player. Coach Floyd needs to have a talk with Coach Carroll. Both USC coaches miscalculated in key games by playing O.J. Mayo and John David Booty.
