at Atlanta 3, Washington 2 (SO): Eric Perrin and Slava Kozlov scored in the shootout and Kari Lehtonen stopped 39 shots for the Thrashers.
Chicago 7, at Columbus 2: Dustin Byfuglien scored two goals as the Blackhawks rolled to a 4-0 lead after one period and cruised from there.
at Buffalo 1, Toronto 0: Ryan Miller stopped 35 shots and Paul Gaustad scored a goal as the Sabres improved to 8-0-2 in their last 10 games.
Boston 2, at Pittsburgh 1: Petteri Nokelainen and Vladimir Sobotka scored less than two minutes apart during the first period for the Bruins.
Montreal 2, at Florida 1 (OT): Alexei Kovalev’s shot from the right circle 1:43 into overtime gave the Canadiens the victory.
