Foster children taken at gunpoint

A mother whose three children were placed in foster care allegedly kidnapped them at gunpoint during a family visit at a McDonald’s restaurant Wednesday, authorities said.
Damaris Amesquita, 30, allegedly pulled a handgun on the foster parent and fled with the children, Angel Amesquita, 2, Julissa Barrios, 9, and Rebeca Barrios, 11, in a green 2000 Land Rover with California license 5GKJ367. Amesquita was with her husband, Jose Amesquita, 27, the father of one of the children. Both are from Bellflower. An amber alert was issued after the 1 p.m. incident.
