TO BE OR NOT TO BE (A ROBOT)

It’s the year 6000 and thanks to an environmental catastrophe, Earth is ruled by a race of subterranean robots in 22-year-old playwright David Largman Murray’s dark comedy “Robots vs. Fake Robots.” Opening at the Powerhouse Theatre in Santa Monica on Saturday, the play follows one man’s quest to join the winning team. “It’s couched in this weird, futuristic setting, but it’s really a very human story about wanting to be something that we are not,” says director Emily Weisberg.
