Delta chief to give up some pay

Delta Air Lines Inc. Chief Executive Richard Anderson plans to waive millions of dollars in compensation he would be eligible for if the carrier merged, as a goodwill gesture to employees and investors.
Atlanta-based Delta, the No. 3 U.S. carrier, is in discussions with fifth-ranked Northwest Airlines Corp., based in Eagan, Minn., about an alliance, people including the Northwest pilots’ union have said.
