‘Storefront’ tax preparer responds

I am highly insulted by Liz Pulliam Weston’s (Money Talk) column Feb. 3 (“Finding the right tax preparer”).
As a tax preparer for what she calls a “storefront” tax preparation firm, we do a wide range of tax returns, including complex returns. Also, there is at least one enrolled agent in almost all offices. It is mandatory for rehire that we complete 30 to 60 hours of continuing education in tax education each year.
This is the mind-set of a lot of people who think they need a CPA’s help for a return that has investments, property sales, partnership and corporations. Carol Lindsey
