91 Freeway to be partly closed

The westbound side of the 91 Freeway from Serfas Club Drive to Weir Canyon Road will be shut down Friday at 10 p.m. to about 9 a.m. Saturday because of construction, Caltrans announced Thursday.
In conjunction with the westbound closures, four lanes of the eastbound 91 will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m. Saturday.
Eastbound 91 will be closed from 11 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday at Weir Canyon Road to Serfas Club Drive. The westbound 91 will be open Saturday night.
“Coming past the 57 eastbound, there’s nowhere to go,” said Caltrans spokeswoman Shelli Lombardo. CHP officers will detour motorists to a parallel lane nearby, but “we anticipate delays up to four hours to use that lane.”
Suggested alternative routes are the Pomona Freeway, the Orange Freeway to connect to the 60 and I-10 for the entire weekend.
For Saturday night only, California 74 will be open for use. The regular construction closure will commence the next day.
