Quality Systems beats predictions

Shares of Quality Systems Inc. surged 13% as the Irvine medical records and billing software maker reported better-than-expected results for its fiscal third quarter.
Shares gained $3.82 to close at $33.92.
Late Tuesday, the company said quarterly net income rose 29% to $11.2 million, or 40 cents a share, from $8.7 million, or 32 cents a share, for the year-earlier quarter.
Revenue climbed 25% to $48.1 million from $38.5 million.
