SEC revises oil reporting rules

The Securities and Exchange Commission approved the first revisions to its oil and gas reporting requirements in 25 years, saying the changes will give investors more information to use in evaluating companies.
The new rules give investors data on proven reserves using new technologies. The rules also allow companies to disclose probable reserves.
