Carl’s Jr. owner’s earnings fall 13%

CKE Restaurants Inc., which operates Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s restaurants, said its net income fell 13% to $5.4 million, or 10 cents a share, for the quarter that ended Nov. 3, compared with $6.2 million, or 11 cents, a year earlier. Revenue fell 4.2% to $336.6 million.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn 10 cents a share on revenue of about $341 million.
Shares of Carpinteria, Calif.-based CKE fell 11 cents to $8.55 in after-hours trading after the announcement. In the regular session, the company’s stock climbed 66 cents, or 8.3%, to $8.66.
