Mayor James K. Hahn asked that seven major Los Angeles city commissions that he appoints begin holding public meetings away from City Hall in different neighborhoods every three months.
The request applies to the Public Works Board, and the Library, Recreation and Parks, Fire, Airport, Building and Safety, and Police commissions.
“I want people to know that local government is coming to their neighborhood to close the gap between City Hall and their community,” Hahn said.
