Archbishop Sentenced to Die in Murder of Girl, 15

A prominent church leader was sentenced to death in the murder of a 15-year-old girl who had attended his church for years.
Archbishop Edmund Gilbert, 60, of the Unicorn Spiritual Baptist Church in St. George’s, the capital, appeared shaken as Judge Othneil Sylvester read the sentence.
Gilbert was convicted last week of capital murder on charges he strangled Robbie-Ann Jeremiah and later placed an anonymous call to police.
