Motorist Dies After Car and Bus Collide

A 77-year-old man died Friday afternoon after his compact car and a public transit bus collided, the California Highway Patrol said.
The man, whose name was not released, was driving his Toyota Corolla on Hadley Street about 4:30 p.m. when the bus, headed south on Broadway, and car crashed, said CHP Officer Spencer Ammons. The man’s car was pushed 50 feet from the point of impact. Witnesses said the bus ran a red light, according to the officer.
Ammons did not know the bus driver’s name. None of the bus passengers was injured. The incident is under investigation.
