The Los Angeles Police Department asked for the public’s assistance Friday in locating a man wanted in connection with the slaying of his brother-in-law.
The victim, 24-year-old James Richard of Van Nuys, was found by police Aug. 3 in a house in the 7400 block of Haskell Avenue with gunshot wounds to his upper body. He died at a local hospital.
Police allege that 31-year-old Donald Johnson shot Richard because of a family dispute and fled with the weapon. That was the last time the suspect has been seen, police said.
Anyone with information on the man’s whereabouts is asked to call the Van Nuys homicide unit at (818) 756-8377 or, after hours, the Van Nuys watch commander at (818) 756-8346.
